WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

Have you thought about starting a business in Japan? Or moving your existing company there?

Maybe you’re already living in the country, and you’d like to be your own boss and switch to the associated visa?

If that’s the case, then you’ve probably done some research already, read some blog posts, watched some videos, asked AI for help… But it’s hard to know who to trust, and the answers don’t always apply to your particular circumstances.

What if, instead, you could ask all those burning questions you have to someone who’s actually been through the whole process? Someone who didn’t call upon professionals, and who therefore gained an in-depth understanding of the steps involved, the mindset to adopt and tricks to speed things up and keep costs low?

If that sounds interesting, why don’t you join Matt and I during this Ask Me Anything webinar, where he’ll take questions from the audience, and I’ll answer them live?

Not only can you finally get an answer to whatever is bothering you regarding being an entrepreneur in Japan, but you might also learn a thing or two you didn’t even know you missed by listening to what the other participants ask!

DAVID GAY-PERRET
David moved to Kyoto, Japan, in March 2020.
In 2021, he was one of the first business owners to obtain Kyoto’s Startup Visa, and by 2022, he had successfully moved his company to Japan from abroad and obtained the Business Manager visa.
He handled the entire process without calling upon professional help, and even managed to obtain an elusive 3-year visa in 2024.
Since spring 2025, he helps others do the same.

MATT AINSWORTH
Matt has spent 8+ years growing startups in Japan and Australia, drawing on product, marketing and comms experience and three ventures of his own.
At Tekkon, he connects founders with skilled Nepalese remote developers, plus champions tech education.
Matt also mentors founders on idea validation, product development, pitching and more.
